How To Turn On the Blue Light Filter on a Samsung Smart TV

Last Updated Jun 17, 2022

If you enjoy binging on TV shows and movies deep into the night, you will need the best lighting for your TV to avoid harming your eyes. Blue Light filters help reduce the blue light emitted from your screens which can be harmful to your eyes, especially at night.

While there is no dedicated option on your Samsung smart TV to enable the Blue Light filter, there are a few easy steps that involve navigating the Setting section of your TV to allow the Blue Light filter. This filter can be enabled on your Samsung TV either through the picture mode, tweaking the expert settings, or adjusting the white balance.

While most smartphones and computers have this feature inbuilt, it is not available on the Samsung TV, but you can enable it through the above-listed methods. This article will take you through these methods and show you how to turn on the filter to make watching shows and movies more safe and healthy for your eyes at night.

Why Use the Blue Light Filter?

The Blue light on your TV can damage the retina, and research has shown that this light can also suppress the production of the Melatonin hormone responsible for sleep. It can also cause mild inconveniences like itching of the eyes, headaches, and others.

With this in mind and the results of the harmful consequences bright lights can have on the eyes, most intelligent TV companies, including Samsung, have started incorporating the Blue Light feature in their televisions.

The blue light feature protects the eyes by filtering out the blue light’s emissions on the retina’s light-sensitive cells, thereby preventing these health issues.

This feature is critical and must be on your Samsung TV to keep your eyes safe, but many people do not know how to enable it because it does not have a reliable option.

Enabling the Blue Light Filter on Your Samsung Smart TV

There are three ways to turn on the filter and reduce blue light rays coming from your TV. First, you can do that by going to the settings and enabling the filter through the Picture mode, Expert settings, or the White Balance options on your TV.

The main reason for the Blue Light filter is to prevent health issues caused by the intensity of the blue light-emitting from our screens.

Though this feature does not have a dedicated option on your Samsung TV, you can navigate through the settings by following any of the above methods to control the blue light emissions on your Samsung TV. So enjoy your favorite shows and movies without having to worry about harming your eyes.

While much research has also shown that the blue light filter in some devices can equally damage the eyes no matter how minimally, the blue light filter in the Samsung smart TV is designed to prevent such damage to your eyes.
