You can still connect an ethernet cable to your TV if your router’s in a different room, but unless you’re ready to get a 50 or 100-foot ethernet cable and spend the time clipping it to the wall, it’s not ideal.

Plus, if you ever decide to move the TV to another room, you’ll need to move the router as well. If you think you might move your TV at some point, consider investing in a mesh network or getting a Wi-Fi extender with an ethernet port.
