But Apple isn’t the only phone maker out there. Though AirPods are designed to work with Apple products, they will work with any device with a Bluetooth connection. You may not have access to some of the finer tuning and features, but the main perks of the device are still available. If you are an Android user, you can still use AirPods and noise canceling.
Turning On Noise Cancellation Once AirPods Are Connected
Once the AirPods Pro are connected to the Android device, the hard part is over. The AirPods Pro features will work from on out like normal. The only problem is that the finer controls that would normally be accessible within the phone itself aren’t available to Android users as the Android device treats AirPods as regular Bluetooth headphones.
If you want to turn on noise cancellation on your AirPods Pro with an Android device, you will have to use the Force Sensors. These touch-sensitive buttons allow the AirPod user to control audio playback, track skipping, and switching between Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency Mode.
Active Noise Cancellation uses outward facing microphones; the Apple AirPods Pro will help block some of the outside noise from the world around them. Another feature of the AirPods Pro is Transparency, which is Noise Cancellation but allows some outside noise to make its way in—allowing the user to use the earbuds but still hear some of their surroundings.
Even though Apple products, such as AirPods Pro, are notorious for not being compatible with non-Apple devices, they work with many others, such as the Kindle Oasis, the Echelon bike, and some streaming devices.
Force Sensor Controls For The AirPods Pro
The Force Sensor touch sensitive buttons on each stem of the AirPods Pro are super easy to use while wearing the earbuds. You simply touch the Force Sensor with your finger on either the right or left AirPod and, depending on how many taps or the duration of tap, it will change the action the AirPods Pro takes by default without having to have access to Apple’s apps.
Force Sensor controls are simple single, double, and triple taps, with a press and hold to switch between Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency Mode.

The only other feature that the AirPods Pro have available to them is the ability for Apple users to activate the Apple voice activated digital assistant Siri by saying “Hey, Siri” when they are wearing them. This feature is unavailable because Android users don’t have access to Siri.
Should you use AirPods Pro With Android
The good news is you can definitelyuse your Android phone with Apple AirPods Pro if you choose. The bad news is that you probably shouldn’t. Though the AirPods work perfectly fine with Android, they were designed to work with Apple products. You won’t have access to the individual controls that Apple iPhone users would have access to when using AirPods Pro.
Anyone with an Apple iPhone or iPad will definitely get more usage out of the AirPods Pro earbuds. They will be able to make more adjustments and to customize their functionality. If you really just like the AirPods Pro, then they will do everything listed here, no more, no less. However, if you have an Android phone, you may get more with another pair of earbuds.
Another pair of earbuds that were designed for use with an Android phone would give you more bang for your buck and probably have all of the same features. Your mileage may vary, and it is all up to taste. The noise cancellation and transparency will still operate, and you will also be able to use the Force Sensor to control the playback of the audio through the AirPods.
Even though these pairings aren’t a match made in heaven, you can successfully pair AirPods Pro to an Android device. Once they’re paired, you can use most of the normal functions that the AirPods Pro have. It won’t be as simple as their integration with an iPad or iPhone.
It will take a bit of learning to get acquainted with how to use most of the AirPods Pro functions, such as noise canceling, changing the volume, and skipping songs.
