How to Change the WiFi on a Bose Soundbar 700
The Bose Soundbar 700 is a smart speaker with many impressive features.
Given its slick hardware look, you may think it’s impossible to change the WiFi network you’re connected to.
However, changing the WiFi on your Bose speaker is relatively easy and can be completed in just seven steps.
- Install the Bose Music App.
- Put your Bose soundbar in setup mode.
- Connect to the Bose WiFi network on your smartphone.
- Launch the Bose Music app on your smartphone.
- Find and connect to the new WiFi network.
Now, we’ll discuss each step in clear detail to walk you through the entire procedure.
Install the Bose Music App
First, you’ll need to download the Bose Music app on your smartphone if you haven’t already.
There are a lot of Bose apps available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, so you have to be sure you’re downloading the correct one.
If you’ve already set up your Bose soundbar with WiFi, you probably already have the Bose Music app installed.
If not, search for and download the “Bose Music” app on the app store.
Then, launch the app and enable location services if prompted.
Put Your Bose Soundbar in Setup Mode
Setup mode allows a Bose speaker to search for and connect to different WiFi networks.
To change the WiFi network you’re using on the Bose Music app, you’ll need to put your device into setup mode. To do this, press and hold the TV and skip back buttons for about five seconds on your remote control.
After this, the light on the soundbar will glow amber to indicate that it is in setup mode.
Note that this will not work if an Ethernet cable is connected to the soundbar.
Connect to the Bose WiFi Network on Your Smartphone
After putting the soundbar in setup mode, move to your mobile phone to complete the connection.
Open your WiFi settings and connect your phone to the network that begins with “Bose.”
If you’re setting up a Bost Soundbar 700, the network will likely be named “Bose Soundbar 700.”
This will connect your phone to your soundbar’s default WiFi network.
You may see a notification on your screen stating that the network you are connecting to has no internet access.
This is normal and does not indicate a problem with your speaker. Press “Yes” to continue.
Launch the Bose Music App on Your Smartphone
Once you have successfully connected to the Bose network, launch the Bose Music app once again.
This time, there will be a notification on the screen signifying that your phone is connected to your soundbar.
If you don’t see this notification, start the process from the beginning or update the Bose Music app.
You must see this message to continue with the connection.
Click “Continue” to agree to the connection.
Once the app has finished connecting to the soundbar, it will lead you to the next prompt, where you can connect to your new WiFi network.
Find and Connect to the New WiFi Network
On the next and final screen, you will see two boxes: one for the WiFi network and one for your password.
Use the arrow keys on-screen to find and select the network you want to connect to.
Once you find your preferred network, enter the password and press “Submit.”
After pressing “Submit,” your Bose Soundbar 700 should connect to the new network.
Why Won’t My Bost Soundbar Connect to WiFi?
If you cannot connect to a new WiFi network after following the steps above, you can try a few troubleshooting methods.
With any luck, one of the following tips will allow you to connect to a new network:
