Xfinity Stream is a video streaming app owned by Xfinity, the largest internet service and television provider in the United States. The Xfinity Stream app allows Xfinity customers to view live broadcast television, video on demand, and cloud recordings. But you don’t always have Xfinity internet while on the go, so can you use Xfinity Stream without Xfinity Internet?

You can access Xfinity Stream with the internet provided by any internet service provider. However, you must be an Xfinity customer to access Xfinity Stream in any capacity. Xfinity Stream is meant for Xfinity customers to access live broadcast television and their content on the go.

The main upside of Xfinift Stream is the ability to watch video on demand and live broadcast television offered by your Xfinity television service when you don’t have access to that television service. Such as if you were on vacation and were staying in a hotel. You could access your Xfinity video content and even cast the app to a Google Chromecast.

Can You Use Xfinity Stream without Xfinity Internet?

The Xfinity Stream mobile app allows you to stream live broadcast television and Xfinity Video On Demand anywhere you have an internet connection with your mobile device. It also works on Amazon Fire TV, LG Smart, and Roku video streaming devices.

You can stream video from the Xfinity Stream app anywhere an internet connection is available as long as you have access to the Xfinity Stream app. The Xfinity Stream app is available on mobile devices such as a phone or tablet and streaming devices such as Fire TV and Roku.

You must be an Xfinity customer to access the services offered by the Xfinity Stream app. You can access live broadcast television and video-on-demand services if you have Xfinity’s television service. A smaller selection of video-on-demand videos is available if you only have Xfinity Internet service without the television package.

If you’re having trouble using the Xfinity Stream app on your phone, we’ve got some troubleshooting steps.

How to Download Xfinity Videos for Offline Viewing

It’s possible to download movies and TV shows from Xfinity to watch later when you may not have access to an internet connection capable of streaming videos or traveling outside the internet coverage area of a cell network. Xfinity makes it simple to download many movies and TV show episodes they have available on the Xfinity Stream app.

  1. Open the Xfinity Stream app
  2. Tap the Menu button in the top left corner of screen
  3. Select TV or Movies under the Browse subheading
  4. Select a video you wish to download from list
  5. Select Series Info or Movie Info to display more details about the movie
  6. Select Download from the Series Info or Movie Info screen
  7. The Downloaded video will now be under Downloads in the Xfinity Stream app and be available for offline viewing

If you sign out of the Xfinity Stream app for any reason, any movies or TV show episodes you downloaded for offline viewing will be automatically deleted, and no longer accessible. You will have to re-download any movies or TV show episodes deleted this way. If you accidentally sign out of the Xfinity Stream app, there is no way to undo the deletion.
