Setting up your Chromecast on a Wi-Fi network is simple. Follow these steps to get it connected.
Steps to Connect Chromecast to Wi-Fi
- Connect Chromecast to Your TV:
- Plug your Chromecast into an available HDMI port on your TV and power it on.
- Open the Chromecast Home Screen:
- Switch to the HDMI input where your Chromecast is connected to see the Chromecast home screen.
- Access Settings:
- Scroll over to the Settings icon (gear wheel) on the Chromecast home screen and select it.
- Select Wi-Fi:
- In the side menu that appears, select Wi-Fi.
- Chromecast will display a list of available networks.
- Choose Your Network:
- Find and select your Wi-Fi network from the list.
- If your network isn’t listed, scroll down and select Add a New Network to manually enter your network name.
- Enter Your Password:
- Input your Wi-Fi password when prompted and select Connect.
- Verify the Connection:
- Once successfully connected, you’ll see a confirmation.
- Test Your Connection:
- Open a streaming app or try playing a video to ensure everything is working properly.
