Nothing is more frustrating than sitting down to watch one of your favorite shows and finding that the audio is not syncing up with the video. If you’re experiencing this issue with your TCL TV, you may be wondering how you can solve the issue.

There are several ways you can troubleshoot audio and video sync issues on your TCL TV. You may need to restart your TV and any connected speakers, adjust your TV settings, or update your TV’s software.

Below, we’ll discuss how you can troubleshoot your TCL TV so that the audio and video sync up correctly. Keep reading to get back to watching your favorite programs!

How Can I Troubleshoot Audio Sync Issues on My TCL TV?

There are several ways you can troubleshoot your TCL TV to get the audio and video back in sync.

Possible troubleshooting methods include:

  • Change your settings to PCM Stereo.
  • Restart your TV and soundbar.
  • Try using another app.
  • Change the channel.
  • Update your TV software.

Below, we’ll discuss how you can perform these troubleshooting steps in detail and get your audio and video sync back on track.

Change Your Settings to PCM Stereo

If you have a Roku TCL TV, ensure your S/PDIF and ARC settings are set to PCM Stereo.

Here’s how you can do so:

  • Open your TV’s home screen.
  • Select “Settings.”
  • Press “Audio.”
  • Select “S/PDIF and ARC/eARC.”
  • Check the box next to this to make it the new default.

Now, check to see if the syncing issue remains on your TCL TV.

Restart Your TV and Soundbar

If the audio and video are still out of sync, the next step is to try turning off your TCL TV for at least three seconds and then powering it back on.

If you have a soundbar or speaker connected to your TV, do the same with that.

Now, try watching something again and see if the sync issue is still present. If so, move on to the next step.

Try Using Another App

If you’ve only experienced this issue on one streaming application, it could be a problem with the platform.

Try switching to another app and see if the issue persists. If not, the problem is with the show or service you’re watching.

But, if the audio and video are still out of sync, you’ll need to keep troubleshooting.

Change the Channel

If you have a cable or satellite box connected to your TCL TV, try switching channels to see if that mitigates the syncing problem.

If so, it’s likely a problem with the TV network.

How Do I Update My TCL TV Software?

Updating the software on your TCL TV requires more steps than the troubleshooting methods listed above.

TCL creates smart TVs using several types of technology, including:

  • Android
  • Google
  • Roku

Below, we’ll discuss how to update your TV’s software on each platform.

Updating Your Android TCL TV Software

To update the TCL software on your Android TV, you must first check for available updates.

Follow the steps below to check for updates and install them on your TV:

  • Highlight and select “Settings.”
  • Select “More Settings.”
  • Choose “Device Preferences.”

If there is an update available, install it on your TV. The audio sync issue should disappear.

Updating Your Google TCL TV Software

If you have a Google TCL TV, follow the steps below to update your software:

  • Press the “Settings” button on your remote, or select “Settings” in the home screen’s upper-right corner.
  • Locate and select “System.”

If an update is available, install it. Your TV will automatically restart once done, which may solve the audio sync problem.
