How to Share Your Location on iPhone: Two Easy Methods

Sharing your location on an iPhone is super easy, and I’ll show you two simple ways to do it. But first, let’s make sure your location sharing is set up correctly.

Step 1: Enable “Share My Location”

Before you can share your location, you need to turn on location sharing in the Find My app. Here’s how:

1. Open Settings: Start by opening the Settings app.
2. Go to Your Apple Account: Tap your name at the top of the screen.
3. Open Find My: Scroll down and select Find My.
4. Enable Location Sharing: Make sure Share My Location is toggled on.

Once that’s turned on, you’re ready to share your location.

Method 1: Share Through Messages

1. Open a Text Thread: Go to the Messages app and open the conversation with the person you want to share your location with.
2. Tap the Plus Button: Click the + icon in the text box.
3. Select Location: Choose the Location option, which will display your current location.
4. Send Your Location: Tap Send, and your current location will be shared instantly.

Method 2: Share Through Contacts

1. Open the Contact: Go to the Contacts app or tap on the person’s name at the top of a text conversation.
2. Select “Share My Location”: Inside the contact details, find the Share My Location option and tap it.
3. Choose How Long to Share: You’ll see three options:
   • Share for One Hour
   • Share Until End of Day
   • Share Indefinitely
4. Confirm Sharing: Select the option that works for you, and your location will be shared accordingly.
