Lost and Found
When you go to the TV and don’t see all the channels you expected to see, it can be upsetting. This is especially true if you are trying to have a family TV night, binge-watch a show, or just relax. Technology runs into issues sometimes. Below we have outlined some of the most common issues and how to troubleshoot them when this problem occurs.
Package Problems
Spectrum has a wide array of packages available to its consumers. Each package includes a different lineup of TV channels. For example, the basic lineup includes standard definition shows with local options. An advanced pack has high-definition channels and more kids’ shows. If you are missing HD channels, it could be due to your package type.
To remedy this issue, you can go online to Spectrum and log in to your account. Once logged in, you can review your package and browse upgrade options. When you find the right package to meet your needs and budgets, you can immediately begin utilizing it after signing up. Start up your TV and watch as many new channels are available in SD and HD.
You can also call Spectrum to have your plan upgraded, or if you notice you have some channels, you didn’t subscribe to, to solve that issue.
Faulty Internet
If you have an internet and cable bundle package through Spectrum, your cable TV shows may require internet to run properly. This is especially true for the premium channels that are provided in HD. If these types of shows are missing, it could be a sign that there is an issue with your overall internet connection.
The first thing you should do is check your router and modem. The best way to reset them is to shut them down and leave them off for 5 minutes before powering them back on again. When the reset process has been completed, it is time to turn the TV back on. If this does not fix the problem, then you need to give Spectrums customer support line a call.
Spectrum Service Interruption
Occasionally, consumers using Spectrum services experience service interruptions and outages. This could be due to inclement weather, bad cables, or a service upgrade. There is nothing you can do when this occurs but wait it out.
However, if you think the outage is due to inclement weather, you can report it to Spectrum through customer service.
Spitting Image
Spectrum has duplicate channels to differentiate between its HD and SD selections. This is also a convenient way for the service provider to add upgrades and channels to certain packages without disrupting everyone’s TV and internet. If you see a duplicate channel, relax, it is likely a different image quality. Just sit back and enjoy your show.
