If you’re trying to use vanish mode on Instagram but encounter issues, such as the message “This account cannot receive messages in vanish mode,” it’s likely due to one of the following reasons:
- Either you or the recipient has a professional account, which doesn’t support vanish mode.
- You’re not following each other, and the message might end up in the Message Requests or Other folder.
Here’s how to resolve the issue by switching from a professional to a personal account:
Steps to Switch to a Personal Account:
- Open Instagram Settings
- Tap your profile icon to access your account page.
- Select Professional Dashboard (if available).
- Access Account Settings
- Tap the Settings wheel at the top of the screen.
- Scroll down to Switch Account Type.
- Switch to Personal Account
- Choose Switch to Personal Account and confirm the change.
- Verify the switch by checking if analytics are no longer visible.
After switching to a personal account, you should be able to send and receive messages in vanish mode without any issues.
If the issue is on the recipient’s end, share this guide with them so they can make the necessary adjustments.
