How to Change the Background Color on Your Instagram Story

Customizing your Instagram Story background can be done in two ways: using the default options or a workaround for more color choices. Follow these steps for each method:

How to Use Default Background Options

1. Open Instagram and tap the + icon, then select Story.
2. Tap Create to access the preset background colors.
3. Swipe through the available colors at the bottom to choose one.
4. If you add a photo, the default background options will disappear.

How to Add Custom Background Colors

1. Start creating a story and add any image to the post.
2. Tap the three dots in the top-right corner and select Draw.
3. Choose a color from the palette at the bottom.
4. Long-press on the screen to fill the background with the selected color.
