Your Apple TV interface is currently in light mode and lacks a cinematic look. You can easily switch to dark mode by following these steps.

  1. Open the Settings app on your Apple TV home screen [0:10].
  2. Select the General menu [0:15].
  3. Choose Appearance to see the options for Light, Dark, or Automatic [0:18].
  4. Select Dark to keep the interface dark at all times, or choose Automatic to have the Apple TV switch between light and dark modes based on the time of day [0:37].

Ninja Tip: You can also customize your screensaver settings to match your new dark theme by going to Settings > General > Screen Saver and choosing between different aerial or photo themes that look great in low light.
