How To Disable Autoplay on Apple TV 4K

Your Apple TV plays the next episode of a series and trailers for new shows automatically. You can turn these settings off to take back control of your viewing experience.

  1. Open your Apple TV Settings menu [0:32].
  2. Scroll down and select the Apps menu [0:40].
  3. Select the TV option [0:45].
  4. Toggle both “Play Next Episode” and “Play a Recommendation” to the Off position [0:51].

Ninja Tip: To stop video trailers and previews from playing while you browse, go to Settings > Accessibility > Motion and toggle “Auto-Play Video Previews” to Off.

If these steps do not resolve your issues, try a device reset by going to Settings > System > Reset.
