Part of the point of getting a smart humidifier over a traditional one is so that it can be connected to wifi, customize the settings, and control it from anywhere.
To connect a Levoit humidifier to WiFi, it needs to be connected to the VeSync app. Press and hold the power button on the humidifier for 5 seconds then follow the instructions listed on the app.
How to Connect a Levoit Humidifier to Wifi
Levoit humidifiers are a highly recommended, quality smart humidifier. Getting the most out of on is simple; all that’s needed is a stable wifi connection and the VeSync app.
To connect a Levoit humidifier to the VeSync app—and thus wifi—follow these steps:
- Download the VeSync app from the App Store or Google Play
- Create or login to your account
- Ensure that Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device
- Hold down the power button on the Levoit humidifier for 5 seconds
- Follow the instructions on the app to complete the connection
The app is closely monitored and updated frequently for bugfixes, regular maintenance, and other improvements for both Android and iOS devices. This is a bit of a double-edged sword, as that means the exact setup and connection to the Levoit humidifier is subject to change.
The good news is that the user interface is friendly, and the directions are both clear and thorough. It’s best to read those instructions, as they are going to be the most accurate and up-to-date.
What to Do if the Levoit Humidifier is Not Connecting to Wifi
Chances are that if the Levoit humidifier isn’t connecting to wifi and operating properly, there was an error in the initial setup. Perhaps a step was skipped or something was misread. It’s okay. The worst-case scenario is customer service needs to be contacted.
However, here are a few things to troubleshoot just in case before getting ahold of them:
- The mobile device is connected to Bluetooth
- Nothing other than the Levoit humidifier is connected, such as speakers, other smart devices, or smart assistants
- There is a secure and stable connection to a 2.4 GHz wifi network
- All passwords have been correctly entered
- The mobile device and the Levoit humidifier are within 30ft or approximately 10m of one another
- The Levoit humidifier is plugged in
- Try to reset the humidifier, the app, and try again from the beginning
These are all things that customer service is going to ask about, so might as well try them so they can get to problem solving sooner. It also probably wouldn’t hurt to make sure that the filter has been replaced and installed properly, especially if it was connecting previously.
How to Reset a Levoit Humidifier
There are two options to reset a Levoit humidifier.
- Delete the humidifier from the VeSync app and then reconfigure it as if it were new.
- Perform a full factory reset on the Levoit humidifier itself.
Do note that doing either of these are going to delete any personalized settings that were previously done.
How to Perform a Factory Reset
To factory reset your Levoit humidifier, hold the power button for 15 seconds then let go. That’s it! Once that’s done, just reconnect it to the VeSync app and start from the beginning as if it were new.
This is also a good idea if it’s going to be gifted to someone else so they can set it up to their own personal preferences.
How to Use the VeSync App
The VeSync app is simple to use can be used to control any of Levoit’s smart products, so it’s really handy to have installed, if not pretty much necessary.
However, it’s important to note that Levoit directly states on their page that they maintain the VeSync app and update it frequently. So, they caution that any information that is not on the app itself about how to use it may be outdated.
The good news though is that the user interface is easy to understand and use. However, there’s no shame in contacting their customer service department if something doesn’t make sense.
What Can You Control from the App?
The VeSync app is a great way to control any of Levoit’s smart products, their humidifiers included.
Here are some things the user manual online states can be controlled with the app:
- Mist levels
- Auto Mode
- Sleep Mode
- Display/night lights
- Customize settings
- Monitor humidity levels
- Set timers and schedules
- Third-Party voice control
It doesn’t matter if the app is Android or iOS, as both are nearly identical. Only a few terms are different.
How to Connect to a Smart Assistant
Just like when setting up to the Levoit humidifier itself, the VeSync app is needed to connect to a smart assistant.
Just like with everything else, the app updates frequently enough it’s best to follow the on-screen instructions for the most up-to-date and accurate information on how to connect to anything else.
There should be a section specifically about connecting to smart assistants, so check under menus or contact customer service if necessary.
Which Smart Assistants Work with the Levoit Humidifier and App?
Unfortunately, Levoit humidifiers and the VeSync app are only compatible with a limited number of smart assistants.

You do not need a smart assistant to connect a Levoit humidifier to wifi or to be able to use the VeSync app. However, utilizing a smart assistant opens up the ability to use voice commands to control it, so some people like doing so if they have a compatible one.
