Many apps track your activity across other apps or services, often without your full awareness. Here’s how to identify and limit tracking to improve your privacy:

Check and Disable App Tracking

  1. Open Settings and scroll down to Privacy & Security.
  2. Tap Tracking to see a list of apps tracking your activity across other apps.
  3. Toggle off tracking permissions for any apps you don’t want to track you.

Manage Location Services

  1. In Privacy & Security, select Location Services.
  2. Review the list of apps that have access to your location.
  3. For each app, choose from Always, While Using the App, When I Share, or Never.
    • Apps set to “Always” may impact battery life. Adjust permissions to “While Using” or “Never” as needed.
  4. At the bottom of the list, use the key to check recent location tracking (purple means recent, gray means within 24 hours).

Disable Personalized Ads

  1. In Privacy & Security, scroll down to Apple Advertising.
  2. Toggle off Personalized Ads to prevent Apple from profiling your behavior.
    • Ads may be less relevant, but your privacy increases.

Check Location Sharing in Find My iPhone

  1. Go to Settings and tap your Apple ID at the top.
  2. Select Find My and review who has access to your location.
  3. If desired, you can disable location sharing completely.

Limit Bluetooth Access

  1. In Privacy & Security, select Bluetooth.
  2. Review the list of apps with Bluetooth access.
  3. Disable access for any apps that don’t need it (e.g., Facebook, LinkedIn).

These steps will significantly reduce unnecessary tracking on your iPhone, giving you more control over your privacy. For additional privacy enhancements, consider limiting browser tracking as well. If this guide helped, check out the video above, like, and subscribe for more tips!
