How to Change Your Name on Facebook (Mobile & Desktop)

Looking to update your name on Facebook? Here’s a quick guide for doing it on both mobile and desktop.

On Mobile

1. Open Facebook and go to Settings (find it in the menu).
2. Scroll to See More in Accounts Center in the Meta section, and tap it.
3. Choose the account where you want to change the name, and select Name.
4. Enter your new name and save it.
   • Heads up: Once changed, you won’t be able to update it again for 60 days, so choose carefully!
5. You can also update your Instagram name here if needed—just remember, you can only change it twice within 14 days.

And that’s it! Quick and easy.

On Desktop

1. Log into Facebook and go to Account (top right).
2. Select Settings & Privacy > Settings.
3. Go to See More in Accounts Center.
4. Choose the account where you want to change the name, and select Name.
5. Enter your new name and save it.
   • Same rule applies: once changed, you’ll need to wait 60 days to change it again.
