What the Number Icon on Your Sonos App Means

Your Sonos app shows a number icon on your speaker interface. You can determine exactly what this notification refers to by checking your active playback status.

1. Open your Sonos app to view the status of your connected speakers [0:00].
2. Look for the notification bubble, which indicates the number of speakers currently playing audio or connected to a source [0:17].
3. Stop playback on one of the connected devices to see the number decrease on the icon [0:50].

Ninja Tip: If you want to group or ungroup speakers without confusing the app, use the “System” tab to toggle individual rooms off or on manually instead of relying on the app’s auto-detected notification badges.

If the icon persists incorrectly, perform a reset via Settings > System > [Speaker Name] > Remove Player.
