You are unable to see or talk to the people in your home through your Echo Show using your smartphone. You can easily fix this by using the built-in Drop In feature in the Alexa app.

  1. Open the Alexa app on your phone and tap the Communicate tab at the bottom of the screen [0:43].
  2. Select Drop In and then choose the specific Echo device you want to connect to from your list [0:47].
  3. Tap Start to begin the video session immediately with your device [1:00].
  4. Alternatively, you can open the Devices tab, select Echo & Alexa, and choose the specific device from your list to find the Drop In option directly [1:46].

Ninja Tip: Make sure Drop In is toggled on within your device’s individual settings under Communications if you do not see the option appear in your app. You can also manage who has permission to Drop In on your devices by checking the permissions section in your individual contact profiles.

Settings > Device Settings > [Select Device] > Communications > Drop In.
