How to Reset Your YouTube Recommendations

Your YouTube homepage shows videos that do not match your interests. You can reset your feed by following these steps.
- Use separate YouTube accounts for different users, like your kids or guests, to prevent their watch history from mixing with yours. [0:30]
- Open your YouTube settings and go to your watch and search history. [0:59]
- Clear both your watch history and your search history to remove the data the algorithm currently uses to make suggestions. [1:10]
- Search for the specific topics or creators you want to watch and view those videos from start to finish to retrain your feed.
- Avoid watching YouTube Shorts unless they align with the content you want, as they can quickly alter your recommendations.
Ninja Tip: You can also manually remove specific videos from your history or click the three-dot menu next to a recommended video and select “Not interested” to fine-tune your feed without wiping everything.
For a full account reset, go to Settings > Channel > Advanced settings > Delete YouTube content.
