Your Nintendo Switch is frozen and will not respond to your commands. You can fix this issue by booting the console into Maintenance Mode.

  1. Power off your Switch completely, then press and hold the power button along with both volume up and volume down buttons at the same time [0:33].
  2. Continue holding all three buttons until you see the Nintendo logo appear on your screen [0:47].
  3. Select the update system option if you want to check for available firmware updates [1:15].
  4. Choose to initialize the console without deleting your save data if you need to perform a soft reset [1:25].
  5. Press and hold the power button to exit the Maintenance Mode screen if you decide not to proceed with a reset.

Ninja Tip: Clear the cache or check for corrupt data in the Data Management section of your System Settings to resolve minor system errors before attempting a full reset.
