You need to capture video footage directly from your Mac screen. You can resolve this easily using built-in tools already installed on your computer.

  1. Press Shift + Command + 5 on your keyboard to open the screen capture toolbar [0:20].
  2. Select whether you want to record your entire screen or just a specific portion by choosing the corresponding icon in the menu [0:54].
  3. Click Options to set your save location, choose your microphone for voice-over, or enable a recording timer [1:10].
  4. Click the Record button to begin, and select the stop button in the menu bar at the top of your screen when you are finished.
  5. If you prefer using an app interface, open QuickTime Player from your Applications folder [2:10].
  6. Select File from the menu bar and choose New Screen Recording to launch the same recording tools.

Ninja Tip: You can trim your screen recording immediately after stopping it by clicking the thumbnail that appears in the bottom right corner of your screen, which opens the built-in markup and editing tools.

If you experience consistent issues with screen recording permissions, navigate to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Screen Recording and ensure your desired application is toggled on.
