The audio on your Roku does not match the movement on the screen. You can resolve this delay with a few adjustments to your settings and hardware.

  1. If you are using an external soundbar, check if the device has a dedicated app that allows you to manually tweak and calibrate the audio delay. [0:32]
  2. Restart your Roku by going to Settings > System > Power > System restart. [0:51]
  3. Unplug your Roku device from the power outlet for 60 seconds to clear out any electrical buildup that might be affecting the system. [1:22]
  4. Inspect your HDMI cables to make sure they are securely connected and functioning properly. [1:34]
  5. Unplug your television from the power for 60 seconds to perform a soft reset. [1:38]
  6. Go to Settings > System > Audio output format and change the setting from Auto to Stereo to see if it fixes the lag.

Ninja Tip: Enable “Game Mode” in your TV’s picture settings for the specific HDMI input your Roku is using, as this reduces video processing time and can help the audio and video align perfectly.

If the issue persists, you can perform a factory reset by navigating to Settings > System > Advanced system settings > Factory reset.
