Your Roku remote is not connecting to your streaming device. You can resolve this issue by following these steps.

  1. Check your remote’s batteries to ensure they are fresh and installed correctly, as pairing requires sufficient power [0:09].
  2. Remove the batteries from the remote and unplug your Roku device from the power source for about one minute to clear any electrical buildup [0:31].
  3. Plug your Roku back in, then press and hold the pairing buttons on your remote until you see a blinking light [0:55].
  4. Wait for the screen to display the “Pairing remote” message and confirm the connection is re-established.

Ninja Tip: Download and use the free Roku mobile app on your smartphone as a temporary remote to navigate your device settings if you are still having trouble with the physical remote.

If the remote still fails to connect, perform a factory reset by going to Settings > System > Advanced system settings > Factory reset.
