Your Roku TV displays a black screen when you turn it on. You can resolve this issue by following these steps.
- Unplug your Roku device from the power source and wait a full 60 seconds. This allows the device to power down completely [0:45].
- Disconnect the HDMI cable from your TV [1:01].
- Plug the HDMI cable back into the appropriate port on your TV [1:37].
- Reconnect the Roku device to the power outlet, ensuring you are plugged directly into a wall socket rather than a power strip.
Ninja Tip: If you still see a black screen, try swapping your HDMI cable for a high-speed certified cable to rule out a faulty connection. Sometimes an older cable lacks the bandwidth required for the modern handshake between your TV and the Roku device.
If the screen remains black, you can perform a factory reset by navigating to Settings > System > Advanced system settings > Factory reset.
