Your network requires a MAC address to allow your Amazon Echo to connect to the internet. You can find this information directly in your Alexa app or on the device packaging.

  1. Check the label on the bottom of the device box if you still have it. Some, but not all, Amazon devices list the MAC address here [0:40].
  2. Open the Alexa app and tap on the Devices tab [1:16].
  3. Select the specific Echo or other connected device you are working with [1:21].
  4. Tap on the Settings gear icon, scroll to the bottom, and select the About section [1:33].
  5. View your MAC address listed under the About menu.

Ninja Tip: If you need to find the MAC address without your phone, log into your router’s admin panel from a web browser and check the Connected Devices or DHCP Client List table. Look for a device named Echo or Amazon to see its MAC address listed right there next to its IP address.
