How to Enable Dark Mode on Instagram for iPhone

Your Instagram app displays in light mode even though you prefer a dark interface. You can change this setting by adjusting your iPhone system preferences.
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone and navigate to the “Display & Brightness” menu. [0:43]
- Choose between “Light,” “Dark,” or “Automatic” to set your preferred theme. [0:47]
- If you select “Automatic,” you can set a schedule based on sunrise and sunset or create a custom timeframe to toggle dark mode on and off. [0:53]
- Once you update your iPhone display settings, Instagram will automatically sync and adopt the dark mode theme.
Ninja Tip: If you are on Android, you can often bypass system settings by tapping your profile icon in Instagram, selecting the three-line menu, and looking for “App Appearance” to toggle the theme directly within the app.
If the theme does not update, check for any pending app updates in the App Store or perform a hard restart of your device.
