You need to add new applications to your Mac but aren’t sure where to find or install them. You can easily add software to your computer by following these steps.
- Open the App Store from your dock or by pressing Command + Spacebar to use Spotlight search [0:31].
- Search for the app you want, click the “Get” or “Install” button, and enter your Apple ID password if prompted [1:06].
- Locate your newly installed app in Launchpad or by using the Command + Spacebar search shortcut [1:24].
- If an app isn’t in the App Store, open your web browser and search for the official website of the software to find the Mac download link [2:11].
- Download the installer file, open it, and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the setup.
Ninja Tip: If you ever need to delete an app, open your Applications folder in Finder, drag the app icon to the Trash, and then right-click the Trash to “Empty Trash” to ensure it is completely removed.
If you encounter persistent issues with software installations, check for system updates by going to System Settings > General > Software Update.
