Your Google TV is actively listening for voice commands through its built-in microphone. You can turn off these voice access features to regain your privacy.
- Check your remote control for a physical switch or toggle that mutes the microphone and flip it to the off position. [0:33]
- Navigate to the Settings wheel, select All settings, and go down to Accounts & Profiles to find your specific profile. [1:02]
- Select Google Assistant and toggle the Voice control setting to off. [1:17]
- Return to the main Settings menu, select All settings, and open the Privacy section. [1:48]
- Turn off the Microphone toggle to stop all apps and services from accessing the TV’s mic.
Ninja Tip: Check your Google Account activity page on a computer or phone to delete your past voice command history, which prevents Google from storing recordings associated with your profile.
If you still encounter issues, you can perform a factory reset by navigating to Settings > System > About > Reset.
