How to Connect Your Samsung TV to a Mobile Hotspot

Your Samsung TV is currently offline because your home internet is down. You can easily get your TV back online by connecting it to your phone’s personal hotspot.

1. Open the Settings menu on your phone, find your Personal Hotspot settings, and enable the Allow Others to Join feature [0:25].
2. Create a password for your hotspot that is at least nine characters long so your TV can successfully authenticate [0:38].
3. Press the Home button on your Samsung remote, navigate to Settings, and select All Settings [1:12].
4. Select Connection, then choose Network and open Network Settings [1:38].
5. Select Wireless to allow your TV to scan for available networks [1:52].
6. Choose your phone’s network name from the list and enter the password you created earlier [2:13].
7. Confirm the connection by looking for the two green circles that indicate your TV is online.

Ninja Tip: If your TV struggles to find your hotspot, try toggling the Maximum Compatibility setting on your phone to switch the frequency from 5GHz to 2.4GHz, as older TVs often require this slower but more reliable signal.

If the connection continues to fail, you can reset your entire network setup by navigating to Settings > Connection > Network > Reset Network.
