Your group chat name and icon do not reflect your current preference. You can update these details directly within the iMessage app.

  1. Open your group chat and tap the icons at the top of the screen [0:10].
  2. Select the option to change the name and photo [0:15].
  3. Enter your preferred group name [0:19].
  4. Choose a photo from your library or create a custom emoji icon by selecting your desired background color and emoji [0:27].
  5. Edit your image as needed and tap done to save your changes.

Ninja Tip: If you want to revert to the original state, you can remove a custom photo by selecting the reset option within the same change name and photo menu to return to the default circle of initials.

If these settings do not update properly, you can check for software updates in Settings > General > Software Update.
