Unwanted emails clutter your inbox and disrupt your day. You can easily block these senders and regain control of your account using a few simple steps.
- Open the email you want to block on your desktop, click the three dots in the top menu, and select block [0:36].
- To block someone manually, click the settings cog in Gmail, select see all settings, and open the filters and blocked addresses tab [1:12].
- Click create a new filter, enter the email address you want to block, and select create filter to set a rule to delete those messages automatically [1:31].
- Open the Gmail app on your mobile device, tap the three dots next to the sender’s name in an email, and select block.
Ninja Tip: You can also use the search bar to type “from:senderaddress” to find and bulk delete all existing emails from that specific person before you set up your filter.
If you still receive unwanted messages, clear your filter list by going to Settings > See all settings > Filters and blocked addresses.
