How to Access the Hidden Scientific Calculator

Your iPhone only shows the basic calculator functions when you open the app in portrait mode. You can unlock the full scientific calculator by simply rotating your device.
- Open the Calculator app on your iPhone by tapping the icon. [0:12]
- Turn your phone sideways into landscape orientation to automatically reveal the scientific functions. [0:26]
- Use the scientific keys that appear on the screen to perform advanced calculations.
- If you need to perform unit or currency conversions, tap the convert button while in the basic calculator view.
Ninja Tip: If your calculator refuses to switch to scientific mode when you rotate it, check that your Portrait Orientation Lock is turned off in your Control Center.
If you still cannot access these features, perform a reset via Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset All Settings.
