What Can You Control from the LG ThinQ App?
Available LQ ThinQ appliances can be found in almost every category of LGs products, including kitchen appliances, air systems, televisions, vacuums, and laundry.
LG Smart Kitchen Appliances
LG has a substantial range of kitchen appliances that are labeled smart appliances, which simply means that they can connect to WiFi.
Some of the most popular models of refrigerators, ranges, and dishwashers that can be controlled by the LG ThinQ app include:
- Door-In-Door Refrigerator
- Insta-View Door-In-Door Refrigerator
- French Door Refrigerator
- Smart WiFi Enabled Electric Range
- Smart WiFi Enables ProBake Convection Oven
- Smart Top Control Dishwasher
- Front Control Dishwasher with QuadWash
No matter what kind of kitchen appliance you’re looking for, you can find a smart option from LG.
LG Smart Televisions
When it comes to the newest collection of ThinQ appliances, there are plenty of options within LGs smart televisions.
- LG G2 77-inch OLED evo Gallery Edition TV
- LG C2 77 Inch Class 4K OLED evo
- LG 77 Inch Class B2 PUA series OLED 4K UHD Smart webOS 22
While all LG smart televisions with Bluetooth and webOS of 4.5 or later will function with ThinQ, you can also check the specs online or in your manual to ensure the two are compatible.
LG Smart Vacuums
Monitoring your vacuum usage and ensuring it’s working to full capacity is easy with ThinQ. Here are just a few of the LG smart vacuums that function with the app.
- LG CordZero Kompressor Universal Power ThinQ Stick Vacuum
- LG CordZero A9 Cordless Stick Vacuum
- LG CordZero™ Cordless Stick Vacuum with All-in-One Tower & Hard Floor Nozzle
In addition to being controllable by the ThinQ app, these vacuums are also some of the highest-quality options on the market.

From air conditioners to dehumidifiers, you can control many of LGs smart air solutions with the ThinQ app, including the following models:
- 14,000 BTU DUAL Inverter Smart Wi-Fi Enabled Window Air Conditioner
- 10,000 BTU Smart Wi-Fi Portable Air Conditioner
- LG PuriCare 50* Pint Dehumidifier with Drain Pump & WiFi

- LG SIGNATURE SideKick Pedestal Washer
- 4.5 cu. ft. Ultra Large Capacity Top Load Washer with TurboDrum Technology

What Can You Not Control from the LG ThinQ App?
ThinQ technology is not available on all LG appliances. Here are a few of the offerings from LG that you cannot control from the LG ThinQ app:
- Televisions without webOS 4.5 or later versions or Bluetooth.
- Any LG appliance that cannot connect to WiFi, i.e., isn’t a smart appliance.
Essentially, if the appliance can connect to WiFi and operates with webOS 4.5 or later, it can be controlled by the LG ThinQ app!
Does the LG ThinQ App Work with Virtual Assistants?
When you follow the steps above to connect an LG smart appliance to the ThinQ app, you will be prompted to select if you want to pair it with the virtual assistant Alexa or Google Assistant.
The LG ThinQ app also works with Google Home, so you can use simple voice commands to control all connected appliances.
However, while it will connect to an Apple Homekit, it does not work with Siri or any other popular voice assistants.
How Do I Know if my LG Appliance Can Use the ThinQ App?
While you can assume that your LG appliance will work with the ThinQ app as long as it’s a smart appliance, there is an option to test if your exact machine will be usable with the app.
All you need to do is follow the instructions above to connect the appliance and opt to scan for available devices.
If the appliance appears, you’re good to go! If not, you may not be able to use it with the ThinQ app.
That being said, it could be that you’re simply having trouble pairing your appliance with that app. To ensure you’re doing everything right, you should go check out TechSupportal.
It can help you either successfully connect your LG appliance to the app or realize that it, unfortunately, cannot be controlled by ThinQ.
