Samsung TV has a Smart Hub filled with all kinds of exciting streaming apps and services. But, is Peacock available on Samsung TV’s list of amazing streaming apps?
Currently, Peacock is only supported on Samsung TV models released from 2017 on. Older TV models cannot install the Peacock app due to its incompatibility with outdated hardware technology. However, there are other ways to stream Peacock on older TV models.
Peacock covers many areas, from entertainment to live reports and news. Keep reading to learn how to set the Peacock app on your Samsung TV!
Is Peacock On Samsung TV?
Peacock, a streaming app owned by NBC Universal, was launched in 2020 and is still in its growing phase. Because of this, Peacock is only available on Samsung TV models released from 2017 on.
QLED, NEO QLED, and OLED Samsung TV models are all compatible with the Peacock app. If you have any other model than this and don’t know what year your TV was manufactured, check the serial number and model code at the side or back of your TV and look online to see what year it was made. If you still have your user manual, you may be able to find this information there, as well.
How Do You Set Up Peacock On Samsung TV?
Once you have confirmed that your TV is compatible, you can download and install Peacock the same way you would install any other third-party application. Connect your TV to your home WiFi network and grab your remote, then follow these steps to download the app:
- Click the Home button on your remote.
- Go to the App section and search for “Peacock.” Click on the app once you find it.
- Download the application onto your TV.
- Once Peacock finishes installing, open the app.
- Sign into your Peacock account, or create a new one.
After completing the above process, you can watch all your favorite shows on Peacock whenever you want.
What If My Samsung TV Doesn’t Support Peacock?
If you have an older Samsung TV, you may be disappointed to learn that there’s no way to install Peacock directly through the Smart Hub. Luckily, there is an alternative.
As long as your TV has at least one HDMI input, you can connect another streaming device and download the application there. Peacock is available on many streaming sticks and boxes, including:
- Apple TV
- Xbox One
Just plug one of these into your HDMI input, download the application, and you’re good to go!
What Subscription Plans Are Available on Peacock?
The Free tier package will grant you access to a limited number of shows. The other two subscription plans give you unlimited access to their content library.
The Premium subscription tier comes with limited commercials, while the Plus subscription offers ad-free programming. You can see all the benefits of the plans available on the Peacock App.
