In 2020, 1.1 billion people took advantage of streaming services as their entertainment option. If you are a part of this number, chances are you are looking for economical and time-saving devices for your service. When looking at Amazon options, you will find Fire Stick and the newer option of a Fire Cube, but which is faster or better?

If you rely on streaming services for your entertainment, speed is a key factor. Hands down, Fire TV Cube, is faster than Fire Stick. However, there are some pros and cons to each option that you should weigh before deciding.

In this article, you will learn about Fire TV Cube and Fire Stick to help you decide which is a better option.

Does Fire Cube Stream Faster?

When choosing any streaming device for your tv, one critical factor is the quality and speed of the streaming. Amazon has two devices that are quite popular for streaming. They are the Fire Cube and Fire Stick. Both allow you to stream to your tv, but there are some differences between the two.

Fire Cube:  The Fire Cube is a new release for Amazon and includes faster software. Many people are being pulled to the Fire Cube because it offers a completely hands-free experience when using the device. Once the device is set up, you will use the Alexa app to control your tv. This is especially convenient if you find yourself misplacing the remote frequently.

Fire Stick:  The Fire Stick is a quality streaming device offered by Amazon, but the processing speed is a bit slower in comparison to the Fire Cube. Not only is the speed a bit slower, but you are still tied to using a remote control with the device. While this may not be a deal-breaker, many people prefer the ability to go hands-free with their streaming devices.

Which Offers Better Quality?

Once you have gotten past the idea of how quickly a device can stream content, you are wondering about the quality of the picture. Speed does not matter if the quality of the picture is poor.

When you begin comparing the Fire Cube with the Stick, you will be pleasantly surprised to find that both offer similar quality for the picture and streaming. Because of this, you will be pleased with either option.

Features of Each

While both devices offer similar quality and capabilities, some things are different between the two.

Cost:  Because the Fire Cube has a different type of software, the cost will be higher than that of the Firestick.  The capabilities you receive with the updated software are.

·         Greater memory

·         Voice command instead of remote

·         Ultra HD

With these added features and bonuses, you can expect to pay a bit more for the device. The average cost of the device and items required to hook it up is around $119. Because everything you need is included in the box, you do not have to worry about surprise costs.

The Fire Stick is still a quality streaming device. The differences are in the memory, use of remote, and having just HD capabilities.  With these features, you can expect to pay around $40 for the device. However, you may need to purchase an adaptor to make the device fit with your TV.

What are the Key Features?

Appearance: If you are concerned about aesthetics in your home, you may want to look at the Fire Stick because it is typically hidden behind the tv where it is connected. The Fire Cube is a box that is three inches by four inches that needs to sit near the tv. With Fire Cube, you also must be aware of where you position the device. It can cause interference with speakers.

Remote: If you are completely averse to using a remote control or are constantly losing your remote, you may find the Fire Cube much more user-friendly. While you can get a remote for Fire Cube, it is designed to be controlled by Alexa voice.

The Fire Stick still depends on using a remote to control the device, but the remote itself is equipped with Alexa Voice capabilities. The difference is that you need to be holding the remote to activate the voice control button.

Memory: The Fire Cube is unique with the memory capabilities it has. While the memory itself is greater, to begin with, there is also an option to add more storage in the future. You will need to purchase a separate connection to do this, but it does provide options.

If you store a lot of streaming services on your Cube, you will run out of memory over time. However, this will not be something that occurs right away, so you will not need to purchase the adaptor for quite some time.

Final Thoughts

If you decide between Fire Cube and Firestick for your tv, the Fire Cube will provide a few more features than the Fire Stick. One of the features that are likely to be appealing is the memory size. Because there is a greater memory size, the Fire Cube will have a bit faster processing speed. This means you are less likely to be waiting for programs to load, and you will not fill up the storage quite as quickly, which makes the Fire Cube a better option for speed.
