Kayo is a popular sports streaming service offered in Australia that allows viewers to watch live games and on-demand content from Fox Sports, ESPN, beIN Sports, and Racing.com. There’s no doubt that it is a must-have on any avid sports lover’s TCL TV. You need to get it installed first.

In this guide, we’re going to take you step-by-step through the process of installing Kayo on your TCL TV. For this guide, we’re going to assume your TCL TV already comes with Kayo or a streaming service that allows you to access it (ex. Roku TV). If you do not have these, you’ll need to purchase a separate streaming device to access Kayo on your TCL TV.

Find Kayo in Your Apps Menu

Most TCL TVs are built with two operating systems: Roku TV or Google TV. While both of these systems should allow you to access Kayo without needing a separate streaming device, they will differ slightly in their steps to install this app on your TCL TV.

The first step to installing Kayo on your TCL TV is to locate it in your Apps menu. If you have a Google TV model, you’ll need to go to press the “Home” button on your remote and then open the “Google Play Store” app. If you have a Roku TV model, you’ll still go to the home page, but instead, you’ll open the “Streaming Channels” menu option.

Once you’re inside the Google Play Store or Streaming Channels menus, you can type “Kayo” into the search bar. For a Google TV, this search bar is at the top right corner of the screen next to the “apps,” “games,” “my apps,” and “settings” menu options. For a Roku TV, you’ll need to click the “Search Channels” menu option.

Download and Install Kayo

Now that you’ve found the Kayo application on either your Google TV or Roku TV, you’ll click “enter” on your remote control to select the app and open the installation page.

After you select and open the Kayo app, you’ll click the “Install” button for Google TV models, and you’ll click the “Add Channel” button for Roku TVs. You’ll then wait for the app to complete installing and then select “ok” when the completion menu pops up.

Alternatively, if you have an Android/Google TV, you might be able to download Kayo but going to the home page, select the “Apps” icon on the left side of the screen, and then select the “Get more apps” option. This will take you to the apps panel, where you’ll need to find Kayo amongst the other apps listed. You can then select and install Kayo from here and return.

Once you receive the notification that Kayo has finished installing, you should see it listed alongside your other apps and streaming services on the home page of your TCL TV or within the Google Play and Roku apps.

Now, all you have left to do is launch the Kayo app by selecting it and either signing in if you already have a subscription or signing up as a new member.

Add Kayo to Your “Favorites” Menu

This step certainly isn’t required, but if you’re confident that Kayo is going to be one of your most frequently used apps on your TCL TV, then you might want to add it to your “Favorites” menu. This will ensure you can find Kayo quickly and easily without scrolling through the lengthy list of other apps and streaming services you might also have.

To add Kayo to your “Favorites” menu on a Google TV, press the “Home” button on your remote to go back to the home page, and then look for the plus icon labeled “Add Apps” underneath.

Usually, the plus icon is found at the end of the horizontally scrolling list of your most used applications (it should be directed to the right of the “Apps” icon.

After selecting this option, a side menu should appear labeled “Select app” with a series of additional apps you’ve downloaded listed below. Scroll down this list until you find the Kayo app, and then push “ok.” You should now see Kayo listed amongst that initial list of your most-used apps.

Roku TV models might not have a favorite list, but you can move your Kayo app to make sure it is one of the top options listed on your home screen every time. To do this, find the Kayo app and then click the “*” button on your remote.

This should pull up a menu with options such as rating the channel, providing feedback, removing the channel, and more. What you want to select is the “Move channel” option. Once you’ve clicked this, you’ll be able to use the directional pad on your remote to move Kayo up to the top of your apps list.
