Smart plugs are a  wonderful tool that not only tracks the time your electronics spend being plugged in but it also turns any device into a smart one that can be automatically turned on/off at any given time through your smartphone. So this means that you can turn your lamp, flat iron, coffee maker, microwave, etc into a smart product so you won’t be worried about burning your house down.

One such plug is the Wyze smart plug. You might have recently purchased one, and you may be wondering how you can connect it to your wifi. Normally, setting up a Wyze smart plug takes approximately 3 minutes after connecting it to your wifi. In this article, we are going to look at how to connect your smart plug to wifi, why it may not be connecting, and reset your smart plug.

Why is My Wyze Smart Plug Not Connecting?

When setting up smart devices, one can always fall into the trouble of the device not connecting to your wireless network. In this case, it may be your Wyze smart plug acting up. You may also have issues with the smart plug disconnecting constantly. These can be caused by a couple of reasons. So why is the Wyze smart plug not connecting?

Your Wyze smart plug may not be connecting to the internet because your device might not have power, or the power may have been turned off. It may also not be connected because it may need to be power-cycled or restored to its original state, and are-added into your account using factory reset.

In other words, there may be minor issues that may need simple troubleshooting solutions. You need to make sure your smart plug is properly connected to the source, and the switch is turned on. To power-cycle, simply unplug your smart plug, and wait for like 10 seconds before plugging it back in. If all these don’t work out, you can try a factory reset which we would be looking into later on this article.
