How to Connect the Nest Audio to WiFi
Now that you know that the Nest Audio absolutely needs WiFi to function, you may be wondering how you can connect the device to your wireless network. Luckily, it is an incredibly easy process, just follow the instructions listed below:
- First, plug in your Nest Audio speaker.
- Then, turn on your phone and download the Google Home app.
- Sign into your account or create a new one.
- Tap the “+” icon.
- Click SET UP DEVICE, then NEW DEVICE.
- Once you have added the Nest Audio, it will prompt you to connect to your home wireless network.
- Enter your password and that’s it, you should be connected!
From here, your Nest Audio should stay connected to your WiFi, however, if there are any problems, you can address them with the several troubleshooting options listed below.
What to do if Nest Audio Won’t Connect to WiFi
Because the Nest Audio needs to be connected to WiFi, it can be pretty annoying if you loose your connection or if you cannot connect at all.
If you are having trouble connecting or staying connected to your WiFi network, here are a few of easy solutions to try:
- Unplug the Nest Audio for at least one minute, then plug it back in.
- Restart your router by unplugging it for a few minutes and then plugging it back in.
- Ensure that your Nest Audio is close enough to your router (within a 30 foot radius.)
If you are still having issues, you can try to connect another device such as a smartphone, tablet, or laptop, if these devices do connect, the problem is with your Nest and you will have to contact Google Support for help.
However, if nothing will connect, unfortunately you may need to contact your internet service provider for assistance.
