The Amazon Fire TV Cube allows you to stream many shows from several services, such as Hulu, and Netflix. It allows you to use the voice commands connected to Alexa, which can control your smart home with ease. The Fire TV Cube has a remote included, but you won’t need to press the microphone button to give your commands.

You do not have to be an Amazon Prime member to use the Amazon Fire TV Cube, but you would need to have an active Amazon account. You do, however, have to have the membership to use certain services.

As an Amazon Prime member, you would get access to all your content once it’s connected to the HDMI port. Being a Prime member gives you the ability to have all the Amazon originals that cannot be accessed by regular users. If you want to know how the Fire TV Cube works and which is best for you, read on.

How the Amazon Fire TV Cube Works

The Amazon Fire TV Cube is designed to make your homing experience much simpler by following voice commands. Even if you’re home listening to music or being entertained by a show, once you mention “Alexa” or whatever voice command word you choose, it would turn off all noise distractions to hear your commands.

It can be very useful for people who always have full hands. The Fire TV Cube has other interesting designs like, when you want to watch a show that you have left, it would resume to the part that you left off. It can also give you options on which service you would like to watch a particular show or movie if it’s one that can be found on various watching apps.

The Fire TV Cube gives you much information on making the right decisions. Either you are planning to watch a show or you are planning on subscribing to a new platform. The black cube makes work much easier.

The Amazon Fire TV Cube has access to various channels and apps like the other popular-streaming devices too. With some exceptions, some apps require additional subscriptions that would eventually add to your overall monthly streaming payment. Other Streaming Apps

Besides your usual TV channels and apps, the Amazon Fire TV Cube also supports entertainment, gaming apps, and music. It’s best to get a gaming controller for gaming apps.

Other Amazon Fire TV Cube entertainment apps include:

  • Spotify
  • Amazon music
  • YouTube music
  • Twitch
  • Minecraft
  • Chess
  • Lego DC Mighty Micros
  • Angry Birds

Now, let’s take a look at the Amazon Fire TV Cube Remote.

The Amazon Fire TV Cube Remote

A voice commander like Alexa is great, but the Fire TV Cube has a good button remote. It doesn’t really have a lot of cool features because Amazon went big on the Cube, but the remote is simple.

On the Fire TV Remote Control, there is a power button on the top and an Alexa mic button which you could use for voice commands, it’s not usually used but if you forget you can control your TV without a remote, then there you go. Like many other remotes, the Fire TV Cube remote control has a navigation wheel, with select command inside.

It has the Back, Home, Menu, Fast-Forward, Play/Pause, Mute, Rewind and a Volume button. There is also a Fire TV app for Android and IOS phones, but the performance doesn’t pair quite well with the Fire Cube’s system.

How to Setup the Amazon Fire TV Cube

Connecting the Fire TV Cube to your TV is so easy it seems automatic. It’s simpler to connect with a new TV, but with older ones, it might require some additional steps. If you ordered your Cube from Amazon and you’re a Prime member, your account is automatically connected to it.

To set up your Fire TV Cube, you would need a power outlet, Wi-Fi or Ethernet cable and a place to keep the cube.

The cube has four buttons- the volume button that is plus and minus to adjust sound, a main button that acts as an enter key, and a privacy button that could stop Alexa from actively listening. At the pack are ports like HDMI input, power adaptor, micro USB devices and infrared cables.

Connecting the device can be straightforward by following the prompt and following the default setup. The Amazon Fire TV Cube can go beyond entertainment. It could also control your smart home by connecting it. This way, you could use voice commands to control your smart home with ease.
