Activate Your New Modem On Xfinity Using the Xfinity App

Once you have gone through Xfinity’s device compatibility steps and you have determined your modem is compatible; you can activate your new modem using the Xfinity app. Xfinity makes it very simple to add your modem to your Xfinity account.

Follow these simple instructions to set up your new modem:

  1. Open and Sign in to the Xfinity app on your mobile device
  2. Select the Account icon in the top-left corner of the Overview page
  3. Select Activate xFi Gateway or Modem under the Devices section
  4. Connect your cable modem to power and an active coax cable in your home
  5. Enter your modem’s 12-digit MAC address number – this will be on the modem’s label
  6. Select Check Your Connection
  7. Once the connection is successful, your modem is now working on your Xfinity service
