Last Updated Aug 3, 2022

Technology can seem overly complicated for some folks these days. That’s why personal digital assistants have become so popular in recent years. Using voice commands to have Alexa, Google Assistant, or Siri keep track of your tasks, turn on your lights, and manage your schedule just takes the guesswork out of today’s cumbersome technology.

You can use the Amazon Echo Glow without Alexa. The only controls on the Echo Glow are an on-off switch and a tap to change the light color sensor. If you want to access any of the other features of the Echo Glow, you will need to download the Alexa app or connect it to an Amazon Echo.

The Amazon Echo Glow was designed to be a smart night light for children. It doesn’t have a microphone or speaker built into it. To use voice commands, you must connect it to an Amazon Echo, and only Amazon Echo brand smart speakers are supported. You can also access the other features of an Amazon Echo with the Alexa app.
