The Echo Glow is a child-friendly smart lighting device. Though it may be small, its many unique features pack a nice punch.

While a lot of smart lights can sync to music, the Echo Glow isn’t one of them. But, that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy your music and Echo Glow at the same time!

Can the Echo Glow Sync to Music?

The Echo Glow is a smart light with child-friendly features. But unlike other Amazon Echo devices, it doesn’t have a speaker to play music or a microphone to sync to what you have playing.

Because there is no speaker or microphone, you need to connect your Echo Glow to an Alexa-enabled device to control it with voice commands. But even once you do that, all the Echo Glow can do is activate different light modes.

What Can I Do with the Echo Glow and Music?

Even though the Echo Glow can’t sync to music, there is one similar option your kids can enjoy — Dance Party mode!

Once you have the Echo Glow synced to an Alexa-enabled Echo device, start playing music on an Echo speaker and say, “Alexa, start a dance party.”

The lights will start to flash in different color patterns for your kids to dance around to their favorite songs.

How Do You Sync Music to Echo?

Before you can use your Echo Glow’s Dance Party feature, you will need to link your music library to your Alexa-enabled device.

By default, Echo devices automatically link to Amazon Music. However, the Alexa app is also compatible with Spotify and Apple Music.

Here’s how to sync your favorite music streaming service to your Echo devices:

  1. Open the Alexa app.
  2. Tap More > Settings.
  3. Select Alexa Preferences > Music & Podcasts.
  4. Tap “Link New Service.”
  5. Choose the service you want to connect to and follow the on-screen steps.

Now, you can play music from your phone to your Echo device.

Can I Play Music on Multiple Echo Devices?

You can play music on multiple Echo devices at once by creating a speaker group in the Alexa app:

  1. Open the Alexa app.
  2. Select “Devices.”
  3. Press the plus sign, then select “Add Group.”
  4. Choose a group name and select the Echo devices you want to play music from.
  5. Tap “Save.”

When you’re ready to start playing music, you can say, “Alexa, play (song) on (group name).” Then when you’re ready to stop, say, “Alexa, stop the music.”
