The Arlo Video Doorbell can be connected to two phones or more phones. You will have to make sure that you have the app installed on your phone and use a special feature through the app to allow other people to talk on their phones through the doorbell.

Granting access is a very simple process, but it can take up to twenty-four hours to go into effect.

How to Connect the Arlo Video Doorbell to Multiple Phones

Having the ability to receive phone calls from and speak to whoever is at your front door without going to your door is one of the best features of the Arlo Video Doorbell. You can even send a pre-recorded message to whoever rings your doorbell. 

Giving someone else access to your device also won’t prevent you from getting calls from the video doorbell on your phone. You need to open up your app and select the account. Once you’re in the account section, you will:

  1. Select “People
  2. Select “+
  3. Type in your friend or family member’s name
  4. Choose the Arlo devices you’d like to share 
  5. Toggle the “Allow Access Rights” on 
  6. The person who has access will receive an email invitation that they have to accept

It’s important to note that it can take up to twenty-four hours for someone’s access to be granted and functioning for all of the features to be available.

How Many Devices can you Connect an Arlo Video Doorbell to?

If you can have the Arlo Video Doorbell connected to at least two devices, how many devices can you have it connected to? After all, many of us have multiple devices that we use simultaneously. 

Arlo doesn’t specify if there is an exact limit to the number of people you can grant access to your video doorbell. You should grant access with caution, limiting it to only those you can trust.

You will have to use different Arlo accounts if you want to receive calls simultaneously on multiple devices, such as answering a call from your tablet in your bedroom while your phone is on the other side of the house.

What are the Specifications Needed to Connect to a Device?

Suppose you’re looking to connect different devices to your Arlo Video Doorbell. In that case, there are some basic specifications your devices should meet in order for the app and features to work properly.

  • Apple iOS devices need version 11 or higher
  • Android devices need 5.0 or higher

If you are using the Arlo web portal, it is compatible with the following browsers on either mac OS or Windows:

  • Google Chrome
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Safari
  • Microsoft Edge

How to Disconnect an Arlo Video Doorbell from a Device 

When you grant a friend or family member access to using your Arlo Video Doorbell, you also are giving them access to change settings. They can change the camera’s modes and delete videos, so you should only grant access to those you trust. 

If you want to remove someone’s access from your Arlo Video Doorbell, you have to open the Arlo app on your device. After that:

  1. Select “Settings”
  2. Select “Grant Access”
  3. Find the friend you’d like to remove access from.
  4. Select the friend.
  5. Select “Delete Friend”
  6. Select “Delete”

You can later re-add this person to your device if you’d like. There are also ways that you can change the privileges that they have access to with your device to prevent them from answering your calls or deleting your videos.

Changing Arlo Devices

If you have upgraded or changed the Arlo device on your account, there are a few simple steps you can follow from the app to remove your old Arlo device so you can have your new Arlo device attached.

  1. Open the Arlo app on your device.
  2. Open your settings
  3. Select “My Devices” 
  4. Find the device you want to remove and remove the device.

You should also reset your old Arlo device to factory settings before selling or disposing of it for optimal security. Arlo also won’t let you pair the Arlo device with another smart device until it has had a factory reset.
